Tonje and Per Anders get off to a tough start on the adventure, when it turns out that the campsite they have chosen offers far less fishing and fishing opportunities than they thought. It also does not take long before the first bear comes to visit.
The heavy work of building a cabin is not made easier by the fact that Tonje and Per Anders do not get enough nourishment. The bears in the area are also hungry, and venture ever closer to the camp in search of food.
Tonje and Per Anders are visited by Canadian authorities, who bring catastrophic news. Winter is at the door, and the whole expedition is in danger.
The cabin must be demolished at the same time as the first snow falls, and it is tough both physically and mentally for Tonje and Per Anders. They have to make a whole new plan for the rest of the expedition. Do they have enough equipment to handle an entire winter in a tent?
Without a roof over your head, and with temperatures down to minus 50 degrees, the winter in Canada will be extremely hard. Tonje and Per Anders suffer from a lack of both food and motivation to complete the expedition.
The adventure is coming to an end, but there is a demanding task that remains: Tonje and Per Anders must embark on a long and tiring journey back to civilization.
